The application form for software probes includes a field for a public
SSH key. Which purpose does it have?

Is that the Pubkey of the future software probe or anything else?

Hi,

When you install a sw probe, it generates a public/private key pair
for its (SSH) connection. The public part needs to be registered in
the system to let the probe connect, so you supply that when you
register your probe.
