I must confess I didn't read the proposal closely enough before this discussion. The process appears to be: 1. WGCC appoints NomCom 2. NomCom calls for candidates, selects a short-list. 3. WGCC picks a new Chair from the short-list. 4. RIPE community ratifies WGCC decision. That double role for WGCC strikes me as unusual, odd. A more straightforward process would be: 1. WGCC appoints NomCom. 2. NomCom recruits and selects a proposed new Chair. 3. RIPE community ratifies NomCom's decision, confirming appointment. As a more standard approach, presumably this was considered? May I ask the reasons why it was rejected?
