<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class=""><div><div class=""><div class="content-isolator__container"><div class="protected-part"><div class="protected-content"><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class="">Dear colleagues, <div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Please find below the call for workshop proposals for this year’s Internet Governance Forum (IGF), which is planned to take place in Ethiopia in November, but which will be a fully hybrid event (so you don’t need to be on-site to be an active participant, or even session organiser!). </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">This IGF is happening at a very dynamic and significant moment for Internet governance - this is playing out in a variety of ways, not least in how the world’s governments are trying to engage with the Internet and exert varying degrees of control over its use and operations. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">You’ll note in the call for proposals that the IGF this year has been structured around five themes (each workshop proposal should relate back to at least one of these themes) - this is a deliberate strategy to reflect the themes that the UN has identified for a “Global Digital Compact” that it plans to develop in 2023 (see Commitment #7 here: <a href="https://www.un.org/en/content/common-agenda-report/#download" class="">https://www.un.org/en/content/common-agenda-report/#download</a>).
